What Is an Altar Server Surplice?
An altar server surplice (also called a cotta) is a white, wide-sleeved liturgical vestment worn over the cassock by altar servers during Mass and other liturgical celebrations. It is one of the most recognizable garments of the altar server.
Design and Features
Traditional surplices feature:
- Wide, flowing sleeves
- Lace or embroidered trim
- A square or rounded neckline
- Length ranging from hip to knee
Materials
Our surplices are crafted from fine cotton, linen, or synthetic blends. They are designed for easy care and durability, with reinforced seams and quality fabric that withstands frequent washing.
Sizing
Surplices are available in sizes from children (age 4-6) to adult. When selecting a size, consider the server's height and the length of the cassock worn underneath.
