What Are Roman Chasubles?
Roman chasubles (also called Latin or Western chasubles) are the most common style of liturgical vestment worn by priests during Mass. They are characterized by their tailored, fitted shape that differs from the more flowing Gothic style.
Design Features
Roman chasubles feature:
- A fitted, Y-shaped or T-shaped back
- Shorter, narrower front panel
- Embroidered orphreys (decorative bands) on the front and back
- Matching stole and often a maniple
Liturgical Colors
Available in all standard liturgical colors: white, red, green, violet, rose, black, and gold. Each chasuble is designed to coordinate with the liturgical season and feast day.
Materials
Our Roman chasubles are crafted from fine silk, brocade, damask, and wool. They feature hand-embroidered crosses, IHS monograms, and other sacred symbols.
